Jewish Gentile Couples
About Us Print E-mail
Written by Emmanuel

The purpose of JewishGentileCouples.com is to increase understanding of the challenges experienced by Jewish-Gentile couples who are dating cohabiting and married and to help them make Godly decisions.

This site aims to deal with challenges in the four relational phases starting with dating relationships, to a wedding, to a season without children and finally the period when children enter a family.

We also discuss the challenges that tend to be present within five cultural categories. They were reported through social research as issues of identity, religion, life cycle events, family and parenting children.

Meet Tuvya Zaretsky, Jewish-Gentile Couples Minister

Tuvya and Ellen ZaretskyTuvya has an M.A. in Missiology concentrating in Judaic Studies from Fuller Seminary's School of Intercultural Studies and the Doctor of Missiology degree from the Division of Intercultural Studies at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon. He is married to Ellen, who is also a Jewish Believer in Jesus. They have three children: Jesse, Abigail and Kaile.

Tuvya was raised in Northern California in the institutions of American Judaism. During his bar mitzvah at age thirteen, Tuvya read from Isaiah 6:1-8 and declared with the prophet, "Hineni-Here I am, send me!" However, his search for spiritual truth didn't come into focus until ten years later, when a Christian colleague encouraged him to seek God in the pursuit of truth. Tuvya came to believe in Y'shua (Jesus) on December 7, 1970. Ever since, he has been joyfully saying to God, "Hineni-Here am I."

I would say after 28 years of a "cross cultural" marriage there simply is no spiritual harmony. It has for me, been like being in a marriage by myself. With loving respect I would counsel anyone contemplating this sort of union to consider strongly 2 Corinthians 6:14.

That being said, I believe for those of us who did not heed God's guidelines, should stay in our marriage and believe God to display His mighty work (Romans 8:28).
